RDC Fine Homes’ President Bob Deeks provides an update from our Bear Creek home construction project in Wedgewoods Whistler, located in the northern area of the resort’s boundaries. We will be posting regular updates for this Whistler construction project.
Bob Deeks, President of RDC Fine Homes, gives us a tour of a new custom home project in WedgeWoods, just North of Whistler. The large property offers a stunning 180° view down into the surrounding valleys. Plus, an incredible vantage at the peaks above the property.
Bob Deeks (00:00):
Hey there, Bob Deeks with RDC Fine Homes. I am up here in beautiful WedgeWoods, just north of Whistler on our newest new construction building site. As you can see, everything is set up and ready to go. We are just in the process of waiting for the final approvals on our building permit, and the boys are getting the site ready for excavation and foundation, and all the wall panels are actually already on site prefabbed in our prefab plant, ready to go as soon as the foundation is ready to go. So let’s have a quick panoramic view of this beautiful new building site up at the top of WedgeWoods.
Bob Deeks (00:39):
Well, this lovely lot up on WedgeWoods actually is lot five on this last phase for WedgeWoods up near the top. This view here is looking south, and as we wrap around to the west and then slowly focus up to a peekaboo view up to the north, you can see that they get about 180 degree panoramic view south to west, and then, of course, we do have a fairly spectacular view up into the corner of the mountains sitting up here above us. So really, really fantastic location here in WedgeWoods, and really looking forward to getting our site works done and progressing on to foundation walls and that big pile of tarped material in the back there. Of course, those are all the pre-framed walls, including interior walls. That’s ready to go, and the boys are now just going to start prefabbing all the flooring components, so that is also ready when the foundation is done.
Bob Deeks (01:44):
So we should be able to expect that once the foundation is complete, we should see a house with a roof on within a couple of weeks, which will be very, very exciting. So stay tuned for a few more updates on this exciting new project. This will achieve the BC Energy Code step four level and will be labeled as a CHPA Net-Zero Project. So if you like what you see, please follow along on YouTube or like any of our other social media pages to get regular updates. Thanks for watching.

Hey there, Bob Deeks with RDC Fine Homes. I am up here in beautiful Wedge Woods, just north of Whistler. We have a very exciting week coming up for our energy step code for Net Zero build up here. All the pre-fabricated components are ready to go and crane’s showing up on Monday, and everything flying into place. So stay tuned for some exciting footage coming up. If you like what you see, please follow along on any of the channels.
(00:30):
Well, let’s take a quick zoom around the site so you can see what’s going on here. We’ve, of course, got our recycling station there. Materials staged for the prefabricated framing. The packages you see wrapped in tarps at the back there, those are all the pre-framed walls and floor assemblies that were done in advance of the site excavation. Of course, you can see the foundation in place. That’s the slab for the main house. And of course, we haven’t poured the garage slab quite as yet. And then this piece of impressive framing right here is one of the main roofs that has all been preassembled and will be flown in when the walls are in place. So stay tuned for an exciting week coming up.
