This fully renovated custom home project in Whistler involved a 3-storey condo that hadn’t been updated in 20+ years.
Our team’s innovative approach involved opening up the living space and implementing various other improvements to transform it into a highly efficient and functional home.
Purpose of Renovations & Construction Challenges
- Previous 3 storey 1,000 sq. ft. rental unit last updated 1989
- Challenging cramped original design and layout
- Strata rules negate moving walls, replacing windows and deck rail
- Improve functionality of layout, better durability for rentals, increased storage, improved warmth, ease of access to laundry and drying space, updated contemporary design
- Provide better performing family kitchen
Efficient Use of Space
- Removed step and stair railing increasing entrance space
- Opened area under stairs, created laundry area
- Removed stepped hearth now flush with floor
- Remodeled second bath, updated tile, new vanity, wall to wall mirror and glass enclosed shower gives impression of larger space
- Double sided peninsula increases storage and efficiency
- Improved efficiency in master bedroom closet
- Re-designed window seat with storage under
- Opened-up kitchen to improve circulation and function

- Replaced carpet on stairs with wood
- Flush hearth and fireplace wall tile clad lends height and depth to room
- Glass replaces rail on stairs, peek-a-boo glass installation in wall expands visual, natural light
- Efficient white gloss kitchen, upscale stainless appliances, chimney hood, stainless under-mount sink with goose neck faucet in Quartz top, flip up micro storage
- Minimized post at end of peninsula
- New lighting all around, including under cabinet lighting
- Removed bulkhead in bathroom, installed glass enclosed shower, marble surround on bath, glass pivot door, enlarged vanity, wall to wall mirror, heated floors
- Custom faux leather paneled wall replaces headboard in master bedroom
